Moroccan Society of Bioinformatics
A scientific association based in Tangier that brings together researchers, students and professionals working at the meeting point of biology and computing.
Who we are
SMBI is a scientific association dedicated to bioinformatics: the analysis of biological data and the computational methods that turn it into knowledge, from computational biology to precision medicine.
Attached to the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques of Tangier, part of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, we organise high-quality meetings, international conferences and training events that connect the Moroccan community with researchers around the world.

A recurring series of colloquia devoted to bioinformatics and its applications.

Training programmes for students and young researchers, such as the ExaO summer school.

Focused sessions on specific topics, including the bioinformatics and data analysis workshop organised with ENSA Tangier and the LTI laboratory.
